Repairing Rotted Exterior Wood

Part of a recent job required the repair of some rotted exterior wood on a house .

The wood brickmold and trim boards were badly rotted as you can see in the first two photos. I removed the rotted wood and replaced the trim board with well seasoned treated wood, which I keep for this type of repair. The wooden brickmold was replaced with a vinyl brickmold which will not be susceptable to rot or insect damage.

The third photo shows the completed repair before priming, caulking and painting. In the fourth photo the completed repair is shown.
